The probability of being born as an identical twin is very slight. In fact, it is so rare that it is thought to be a freak of nature. Are identical twins built in the same way then? Are they given exactly the same hair and eye colour, the same kind of genes that produce similar noses, ears and lips? Yes, identical twins are difficult to tell apart. Additionally, their interests are usually shared, and they are inspired by the same things.
Because of all these similarities, identical twins are stated to be very close to each other, and collaboration is said to be quite a natural way of functioning for them. If the twins are not separated from each other but are brought up together, another way of life is, in fact, not even known to them. From the very moment they are conceived, they share a unique partnership which is very seldom experienced by the more common 'single' siblings. It is believed that identical twins have more empathy with each other than people on average. It is even reported to be usual that identical twins can actually "feel" each other's sensations in their own bodies.
Were you ever told any stories about identical twins that were separated at birth? In this story one twin was sent to Saudi Arabia and she was named Ranya; the other one was sent to Mexico and she was named Rosita. The girls were never told about their twin sister. Twenty years later Ranya and Rosita were contacted by their biological parents, and invited to a family reunion. Ranya was not thrilled about the trip as she had an upset stomach. It had been that way for two months then.
Ranya and Rosita, however, did arrive at the reunion, and they were warmly welcomed at the party by their biological family. The family members were surprised to see that despite the girls' regional costumes, both of the girls were dressed in the same colour blue. When Ranya and Rosita were finally left alone, Ranya told Rosita that her trip to the reunion was almost cancelled because of her constant stomach ache that had been going on for two months then. It was not known what was causing the pain. It was almost as if a new life was developing inside of her. But it couldn't be as she was not pregnant. "Well, maybe YOU are not pregnant, but I am!" Rosita grinned happily at her sister. Now, take a guess as to whether the baby was expected in seven months time or so. Yes, you're absolutely right. When Ranya first heard the news, she had been feeling her sister's baby in her own womb for two months too!
