Rhonda Scharf, CSP, HoF

ON THE RIGHT TRACK specializes in motivating and training organizations and associations with a unique expertise in efficiency and effectiveness. I am very confident that I can provide you with both a fun-filled keynote, and a realistic and informative session for your members, and make it fun at the same time.

I call it "Edutainment" (Education + Entertainment). I have a solid content core, but it is delivered in a relaxed and humourous style. I like to say that I am allergic to lecture and I will spend our time discussing the information in a very interactive environment. My experience has been that this allows everyone to picture themselves in each situation, and apply the information immediately because they completely understand the where, the why, and the how-to.

Because I have a philosophy about the high level of interaction I always involve the audience. I like to use humour, participation for everyone, and applicable situations and examples.

When you hire me you are getting a highly experienced speaker who has spoken in 13 different countries and to literally tens of thousands of people. Some companies I have spoken to include: Bristol Myers, Sony, Mercedes Benz, The Canadian Olympic Association, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and most of the Fortune 100 companies today.

I was recently inducted into the Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame and earned my CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) in 2002. The CSP is the highest earned designation in the industry and the Hall of Fame speaks for itself. I am only one of two people worldwide who has earned their CSP, HoF and been awarded the peer recognition award, Spirit of CAPS.

I have seven books all focusing on workplace efficiency, and the eighth focused on Artificial Intelligence in the workplace will be in print prior to your event.

Leadership Bootcamp
(Workshop)

You have earned your senior role. You’re respected and you know what to do. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it better. By learning to be a leader, you’ll find you standout on your team and your team stands out. Getting things done is easier, the frustration level is lower, and you’ll enjoy what you are doing.

Using of a fully interactive, fun and applicable workshop activity, we’ll discuss what leadership means to everyone, and how they can apply the same leadership skills that are used to run organizations of thousands to their own roles back at work.

Invisible Influence
(Workshop)

Your job as a BA requires you to influence people all the time. Management position or not, you need to gain support, inspire others, work well with others, get things done without support and improve your relationships. Without the ability to influence in your business analyst role, you will be ineffective.

Whatever form it takes, being an excellent influencer makes your job easier. We all want to have influence with the people we work with, but are unwilling to be manipulated, or be a manipulator. Invisible Influence explores the science of influence – by maximizing our own personal strengths

Dealing with Difficult People

This workshop shows you the very crucial components for handling difficult situations effectively. You’ll discover strategies and techniques you can use in any relationship, whether it’s at work or at home.

• 5 strategies for improving communication – so you can implement some early intervention techniques with your challenging situation and difficult person.
• How to diffuse people who are angry, upset or just plain rude, and how to calm tense situations.
• What motivates the behaviors of difficult people.
• Techniques for giving feedback to difficult people to help correct or even improve their behaviour.
• Face life confidently, knowing you’re up to any challenge.
• Learn to be effective and build trust and respect, without damaging relationships or reputations along the way.
• A step-by-step model to follow to make it easy.

Business Writing Update

Let’s face it – times change. Fashion changes, music changes, and language changes. If this weren’t true, we could all be speaking the same way Shakespeare did (which makes me glad that language changes).

If language changes, so must our writing styles. Just because it was “right” when you were a kid doesn’t mean that same writing or grammar rule is still right. Grammar and business writing is evolving as well, and if we are professionals, we must evolve with it.

This one-hour session is going to bring your writing skills up to 2019.

You’ll learn:

- How to create polished business documents
- Avoiding run on sentences, comma splices, and transitions
- Watching the hot spots and how to avoid them
- Grammar refresh (honestly this won’t be painful!)
- Red flags to watch for (lie or lay, bi-weekly or semi-weekly)
- Easy memory tricks to help you (remember I before E except after C?)

The danger of not keeping your skills up to date is your reputation. You can fix that in just one hour!
