Opening Thursday, March 28
At Williams Fine Art Dealers we are proud to show work by some of the top artists working today. When you support living artists, you are participating in a centuries-old partnership between collector and artist; enabling this noble profession to continue. We think that's pretty great.
Each of us sees the world through our own unique lens of experience, preference, and proclivity. What we value in art, in part, is the gaze of the artist. Through his or her work, the artist directs our attention to things that we may otherwise overlook, and herein lies one of the many gifts art imparts to us: the chance to pause and consider a perception different than our own. Our new show, On Looking, is based on this idea--each piece gives a glimpse into how an artist transforms one moment, object, or scene into something worthy of being looked at more closely.
Please join us this Thursday!
Oil on Canvas
The title of this work comes from a song by Led Zeppelin, "Achilles' Last Stand." In it Robert Plant sings, "Oh Albion remains...sleeping now to rise again" referring to ancient England. The artist chose it in reference to the Victorian architecture of the building.
The follow pages contain a few images included in a series of 24, 12x12" oil paintings on linen board. For titles or images of pieces not included here, contact the gallery.
