Elmslie House is delighted to announce the opening of a new exhibition, ‘Drawing out the Abstract’, on Friday 18th September
which reunites the work of Worcester artist Sue Firmin, with her Malvern contemporary, Trudi Foggo.

Please note - all work is for sale. Payments for any purchases will be taken via card or through an invoice payable by BACS transfer.
All work can be collected at the end of the exhibition or delivered by agreement.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Elmslie, or for those who do not wish to attend in person we hope you can still enjoy
the artwork by perusing this e-book.

The exhibition will be open 11.00 – 4.00pm daily on the 18th, 19th & 20th of Sept, then the following week 25th, 26th and 27th Sept.
This free exhibition doesn't require booking but numbers will be limited to allow for social distancing.  

Elmslie House are also offering a limited number of 20 minute private appointments between the hours of 10.00-11.00 and also from 4.00-5.00pm each day on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call Anna Taylor on 07789 470780 to book a private appointment.

I’m often asked where my inspiration comes from, and its really from the act of mark making and my feelings about it. I’m not happy without a path to follow leading the eye around, taking me to all parts of the surface. Finding places to rest and enjoy some quieter moments, exploring subtle marks, before continuing the journey.

As you will see, much of my work is on large canvasses – it allows me to to use large sweeps of colour to convey energy and what ends up on the canvas is never a direct replication of what is there. A sense of place and belonging is important and will be in there somewhere however much the structure has been deconstructed and my intention is to give the viewer the quality of being open to more than one interpretation and an exactness which can trigger a response to a remembered place for them
