John Maddison

Our association with John Maddison stretches back over 25 years and we are delighted to have the opportunity of showing 40 new paintings - comprising mainly of his enduringly popular still life arrangements, together with interior and garden views of his 17th Century house in East Anglia.
John's pictures glow with earth colours shot through with occasional dashes of blue. He is preoccupied with the shapes and patterns made by accidental conjunctions of bookshelves, pictures, chair backs and objects on a mantelpiece, as well as by half-open doors.
