Saturday 2nd – Wednesday 20th April, 2022

As a portrait painter Peter has received a number of prestigious commissions. He was commissioned by HM The Queen to draw Yehudi Menuhin as a member of the Order of Merit. HRH The Prince of Wales has commissioned Peter to paint several major works. These include portraits of the Princes William and Harry as small boys, the marriage of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey, and the christening of Prince George at the Chapel Royal. The most recent commission from HRH The Prince of Wales was to paint the eminent cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch MBE for the exhibition “Seven portraits: Surviving the Holocaust” at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace in January 2022. He painted Harry Patch aged 106, who was the “last Tommy” of the Great War.

In 2019 Peter was awarded the Ondaatje Prize and Gold Medal for the most distinguished portrait in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition.

Peter has had a life-long love for Italy. He has always enjoyed painting Italian architecture and landscape and over the years Peter has traversed much of the country. The paintings in this exhibition reflect Peter's continued fascination with Italy and his love of the countryside that surrounds his home in Kent.

Peter is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the New English Art Club.
