LOTTA TEALE
Lotta Teale was born in 1979 and, after initially training in law, has followed a successful career as an artist since 2018. Lotta paints loosely with accuracy of colour and drawing, whilst maintaining a liveliness and energy. Influenced by early 20th Century painters, she focuses on still life paintings and en plein air gardens and architecture. In her stunning still life work, Lotta paints reflective silver and iridescent ceramics, contrasted with luscious colours of elemental organic forms such as fruit and vegetables. Her work is an enriching combination of modernity, with her vibrant brushwork, and the traditional, with her simple elegant compositions. In 2021 Lotta won first prize in the British Arts Prize.
