The Home of Blue Magpie
Contemporary Craft Fair

Founded in 2015, Blue Magpie is a Contemporary Craft Fair held in the heart of Great Malvern.

Elmslie House is an imposing Grade 2 listed Victorian gothic mansion which serves as both a family home and an events venue.

This beautiful building with its architectural features, large hall and high ceilings makes it a perfect location to host artisans and their work.

Showcasing talent and supporting makers is at the heart of each event.

Participants are charged a modest fee to show their work and are supported both before and after the event with inclusion to the Blue Magpie Find a Maker Directory.

Founder and Original Magpie, Anna Taylor has always had a love of the Arts and her home is filled with the artwork which she has collected over the years.

Both Anna, and her team, are always looking out for both established and new emerging makers from across the UK to join the Blue Magpie family.

The fair first started in 2015 as a pop-up with just 12 makers and now hosts over 60 makers during two long weekends in both March and November.

Carefully curated to ensure high standards and a wide mix of disciplines across all crafts, the Blue Magpie Fairs welcome makers with ceramics, jewellery, print, textiles, wood and much more.

The centre of Great Malvern is a 5-minute walk from the venue and is a thriving town with lots to offer visitors.

Great Malvern railway station is also a short walking distance from the house. (Both buildings were designed by Edmund Elmslie, after whom the House was re-named after its restoration in 2013).

“The idea of Blue Magpie was born out of wanting to share craft; to promote and support designer makers, who through their talent and craft, make the world a more beautiful place.”
