Each guest will receive their own personalised programme within the retreat. The process starts ahead of departure with the leaders gaining a background and context to your unique health and wellness goals. The Silver Linings focus is how these will be supported and enabled - before, during and after your retreat. 

Silver Linings offers a nurturing environment to receive the incredible health benefits of combining a Paleo diet and juice cleansing. Each day, we present specially created menus of healthy, clean and delicious food with a one-day juice cleanse from Radiance.

As a private island resort, Kamalame Cay is renowned for its superb cuisine, with its own kitchen garden providing the freshest produce and super greens. The Mennonite farm on the nearby island of Andros (the largest and least developed landmass in the Bahamas archipelago) further increases the range of local produce for the island kitchen.

'Me' time is so often overlooked on retreat programmes. Not so at Silver Linings. The day flows with group training sessions as well as one-to-one coaching and tailored treatments. Be assured also of plenty of time each day to relax and truly unwind, to explore the island, dive, snorkel or take long walks on deserted beaches.

Each night, we will dine family-style. However, should anyone wish to dine alone, or should any attending couples or friends wish to dine together then of course this is all easily arranged and, indeed, encouraged.

Introducing Chrissy Sundt
Founder, Silver Linings Retreats

"My inspiration for Silver Linings was to create beautiful retreats that I would want to go on."

Chrissy is a classical Pilates and ‘barre’ instructor with a deep passion for movement and holistic forms of exercise. She has been teaching for over 15 years and combines her teaching with her ongoing work as a choreographer.  After 8 years of training at the Royal Ballet School and a dance career that saw Chrissy dance with both the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet, an ankle injury led Chrissy to discover the extraordinary rehabilitative effects of the Pilates method. Chrissy went on to gain certification first from Pilates International, London and later with Power Pilates, New York.  She also has ‘Barre’ certification and teaches for the exclusive ‘barrecore’ studios in London. Her focus as an instructor is always to challenge each client appropriately and focus on building a mind-body connection that goes beyond the work in the studio and gives long-term body awareness and engenders a true sense of wellbeing.

Kasia Gdowska
Director of Therapies, Silver Linings Retreats

A bodywork practitioner for over 10 years, Kasia has a solid background in counselling. She began to specialise in massage therapy (physiotherapy) as early as 2007, after deciding to settle down in London. Her practice is grounded in a passion for working with people and helping restore their mind-body equilibrium.

Over the years Kasia has focused on deep-tissue treatments with a holistic approach. Her personal, one-to-one attitude is key to releasing imbalances, tension and blockages from the body, mind and heart. With a profound appreciation for the emotional side of her clients, her work is deeply intuitive. Her true vocation is to make a difference to others and by doing so make their lives more vibrant.

There's no place like home.

Kamalame Cay is the best-kept secret in the Bahamas.

A stunning ninety seven acre resort, this private island has been owned by the Hew family for two generations.

They have lovingly created a tropical paradise of endless coconut groves where elegant villas hide among lush, natural gardens - each one set just back from the endless beach, secluded in a hammock-slung treeline.

Each bougainvillea-adorned house is unique, built in the charming West Indian style. Inside, a fresh colour palette compliments the stunning sea views and modern comforts blend with carefully collected artworks and antiques.

Curl up in a Balinese armchair on deck to enjoy the well-thumbed books from the shelves for leisurely reading, looking out to the Caribbean Sea. It's a special kind of bliss, of being at one.

The atmosphere is relaxed, informal and familial with the Hews' personal hosting and presence on the island highlighting their elegant approach to island life and enjoyment of it all.

This three-kilometre barrier island sits just off the coast of Andros and inside the world's third largest barrier reef, so of course Kamalame has it's own PADI centre for private diving. The island's shore teams with manta rays and guests are regularly treated to pods of dolphins playing within the reef. The island's waters are world-renowned for the kingly sport of bonefishing; an elite but sustainable past time with strict catch and release practices.

Boasting the only over-water spa in the Bahamas, the experience of being massaged by expert hands, with turquoise waters lapping below and muslin drapes dancing in the gentle breeze is an escape itself.

These are the Kamalame moments you will treasure.

The food is, reassuringly, as good as one would imagine. Each month the island attracts around 60 invited foodies to a very celebratory Sunday lunch. The expanding kitchen garden and a large Mennonite farm on the neighbouring island enhances the international menu with increasingly locally-grown produce.

The island consists of the resort villas and suites, with private residences and plots for sale on two thirds of the island. The Hews work closely with owners to design and build their dream homes - and many of the residences are then available for rental via the resort office.

It is this unique community of the Hew family, homeowners and resort guests on island all at the same time that creates the magical Kamalame Cay experience. It's why Conde Nast Traveller describes the island as 'like Mustique 50 years ago'.

Silver Linings Founder, Chrissy Sundt, is a leading barrecore instructor. A passion for barre and dance based fitness was the starting point for the very inspiring barrecore story: it started as private classes out of a little mews house in Central London. barrecoreCHELSEA was a runaway success as word started to spread that these classes really did achieve amazing and rapid transformation in the body. The studio has a real following amongst high achievers – busy executives and mums alike were drawn to the barre style of exercise which also yielded rapid results.

From informal classes in Chelsea, to now 7 studios (and counting) across London and the UK, the barrecore story continues to evolve, most notably with the barreNOURISH and barreINSPIRE programmes, which are central to barrecore founder, Niki’s belief in a truly holistic approach to changing bodies, as well as minds towards wellness.  barrecore helps to align the diet and exercise approach overall and we are confident that the introduction (or continuation) of your barrecore training as part of the Silver Linings retreat will help you build a stronger mind and body.

We all know that a healthy diet and exercise go hand-in-hand if you want to reach your fitness goals. The barreNOURISH programme was developed by Niki Rein (founder and director of barrecore) and the barrecore team to help clients reach their weight and fitness objectives.  We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Niki and the barreNOURISH programme on developing specially created and curated menus for the Silver Linings Retreats. These delicious meals will kick-start a healthy eating plan, maximise your results during and post-retreat but most especially, they are aimed towards changing your attitude to and relationship with food.

Whilst on our retreat you will enjoy 6 days of light, fresh, locally-sourced produce, including fresh fish and seafood as well as delicious vegetables sourced from the on-island garden kitchen and Mennonite farm based on the mainland island Andros.  These clean and beautifully presented meals will be eaten in the gorgeous surroundings of Kamalame’s ‘Great House’ or in the Retreat Villas or Cottages.

Once you return home the barreNOURISH team will be contacting you to continue the good work.  Clients will be encouraged to check in for a one-to-one consultation where a member of the team will take body fat measurements, go over your progress and tweak the programme you began with Silver Linings so that you keep your body guessing and changing.  The barreNOURISH experts are bio-signature modulation qualified and provide sustainable solutions in the post-retreat world.

British Airways offer the only service between London Heathrow & Nassau; offering World Traveller, Traveller Plus and Business class only. They fly a Boeing 767 each way EVERY day except Monday and Thursday. This gives guests great flexibility to extend their stay on island, either before or after the retreat.

Options from London via Miami

Multiple airlines fly daily London to Miami. This offers Miami stopover possibilities as well as same day onward flight transfers making arrivals via Miami possible every day of the week. Private and scheduled flights land on Andros every day from Miami (45 minutes) & Nassau (15 minutes).

Sea planes and helicopters can be organised from both Miami and Nassau to land directly on Kamalame Cay. It is quite the private island arrival and always causes a stir on the cay.
